Bronson Coffee Machine: Grinds, Froths and Cleans Up After Itself for $1,299

Every super-automatic espresso machine promises “one touch” coffee. Then it hands you a drip tray, a puck drawer, a milk wand that smells like last Tuesday and a cleaning schedule. The Bronson coffee machine, from a small team in Melbourne, Australia, wants to fix the part after the coffee. It grinds whole beans on a steel conical burr grinder, froths dairy or alt milk hands-free and then flushes its own brew path after every cup, behind a sliding door so you never see it spit. Preorders for Production Run 02 are $1,299 (Bronson lists a $1,970 MSRP), with shipping from December 15, 2026.

The coffee machine that does its own dishes

Bronson calls it a closed-loop brew path: when your drink is done, the machine seals itself off and rinses the internal parts that touch coffee. The flush water and used pucks drop into separate grounds and wastewater tanks with dishwasher-safe inserts, and glowing indicators tell you when to empty them. It also preheats before brewing (about 45 seconds from cold, per Bronson) so your first shot is not the sad, lukewarm one. In other words, it is the roommate who actually rinses the mug.

Four buttons, zero barista school

The interface is just espresso, black coffee, milk and hot water. Press once for a single, twice for a double. Bronson says it doses about 11 to 12 grams per shot and extracts at 9 bar, and for a double it pulls two separate shots instead of dragging water through one tired puck. Black coffee is hot water plus two fresh shots. There is a manual espresso mode for tinkerers, and a continuous hot water button for the tea people in your life.

No milk tubes, ever

This is the clever bit. Milk never runs through the machine. The built-in frother is a removable jug that uses induction heating and centrifugal foaming, with three presets: hot foamed milk, hot flat milk and cold foam for iced drinks, plus a manual mode and a countdown timer so you know exactly when your latte is ready. You still give the jug a quick rinse after use (it is hand-wash only), but there are no hidden tubes growing a science project.

Preorder reality check

Bronson is a preorder, not a box on a store shelf. The $1,299 price is for Production Run 02, which Bronson says ships from its manufacturer (Borine in Ningbo, China) starting December 15, 2026, with delivery taking another two to three weeks. Ship dates are estimates, and Bronson’s own terms say they can move. Preorders close October 30 or when the run sells out, and Bronson says you can get a full refund if you cancel before then. Miss it and there is a $100 refundable deposit for Run 03, slated for January 2027. Worth knowing: about 150 beta machines are already in homes, but Run 01 mass production was only expected to start later in October, and we have not seen any independent reviews yet. Bronson’s founder has been refreshingly open about beta bugs on the company’s YouTube channel, which we like, but it also tells you this machine is still being polished.

GadgetKing take

Bronson is attacking the right problem. Nobody hates making coffee. Everybody hates cleaning up after making coffee. A machine that rinses itself, hides its waste, skips milk tubes entirely and can hook straight to your water line is basically a cafe with a self-cleaning oven setting. The $1,299 preorder price lands right in Jura and De’Longhi territory, though, so the coffee has to be genuinely great and the hardware has to survive a few thousand mornings. From a small startup on its first big production run, that is a real ask. We love the idea, the honest build diaries and the hidden spit-free rinse door. Just remember you are betting on a team, not a shelf, and the refund window closes October 30. If it delivers, your Monday-morning self will send a thank-you note.
