iPhone Competition? HTC’s Touch Diamond

HTC Touch Diamond

HTC is launching it’s newest smartphone the HTC Touch Diamond to compete with the upcoming 3G iPhone. My largest concern with this new phone is the 4 color flag in the top left of the screen. I have tried several Microsoft based phones and they are typically FAR from intuitive when it comes to the user interface. I am a user of Microsoft products on my desktops/notebooks and thought that the hop to the phone interface would be somewhat natural… (insert Borat accent) Nottt sooo muuuuch!

Either way, the phone has some cool features like the new TouchFLO 3D interface, a new browser (I have yet to see a better phone browser than the iPhone’s), 3G (niiiice), and a neat feature of the phone going into silent mode when you place it face down. The phone will be in Europe in June and the rest of the world later this year. More pictures, specifications, and video after the break.
