Level Lock Makes Your Dumb Bolt Lock Smart
I am a big fan of making the home a smarter place. I have smart locks (the Nest X Yale Lock and the Yale Assure Lock SL), smart switches, smart plugs, smart sensors, etc… I prefer the Apple HomeKit enabled ecosystem as Apple is one of the rare tech companies that still cares about customers […]
Save Money And Reuse – Recycled Billboard Advertising As Tarps
I like this one. A bit of recycling stuff that otherwise would have made it directly to the landfill. In this case, old roadside billboard advertisements get a second life as high-quality tarps. They are already UV treated and typically are thicker and stronger than the tarps found at the local hardware store. For a quick […]

This video is Westinghouse’s view of the future from the 1950’s – The Total Electric Home.
Oliver Cabell Phoenix Sneaker
That good looking show pictured above is the Oliver Cabell Phoenix Sneaker. Not only does it look nice, it is also made from repurposed plastic water bottles. The water bottles are washed, shredded, melted, and made into a plastic-yarn that is 3D printed for the shoes upper. The Phoenix sneakers are machine washable and are […]
Rise In Radiation Levels Following Explosion In Russia
The Russian’s don’t have much luck when it comes to using nuclear power/weapons. Think Chernobyl, Mayak, and Kyshtym. Well, it doesn’t stop there. This week they were testing a liquid-propelled rocket near Nyonoksa when there was an explosion that killed two people and injured at least six more. Shortly after this explosion, there was a […]
Ring Keeps Doubling Down On Creepiness
Ring (Amazon) just can’t help running over folks privacy. First, they let law enforcement know where every camera is in use, then they coached law enforcement on how to get user videos without using a warrant, and now there is evidence they were rewarding users for reporting suspicious activities. I think the “intent” might be […]
Airspeeder Racing Series
Now that the RC quadcopters and drones have proven so stable and reliable, they are growing in size and carrying humans. It was only a matter of time. Heck, the Tesla’s are basically giant versions of the electric RC cars I play with from time-to-time. Looks like these coaxial octocopter versions (and quadcopter styles) will […]
Amazon’s Ring Has Over 200 Law Enforcement Agency Partnerships – Creepy
I am a huge fan of the Nest line of cameras – the Nest Cam Outdoor, Nest Cam Indoor (just buy the outdoor version), and the Nest Hello Doorbell. With that said, I will toss them all in the trash if the Google/Nest decide to follow Amazon’s (Ring) level of creepiness with regards to sharing […]
Lego Treehouse 21318
Damn you Lego. I am a grown man. Why do you keep making me buy toys I don’t need? This beautiful treehouse comes with 3,036 pieces and is over 14-inches tall. It is currently the largest lego set in the LEGO Ideas lineup. This Lego Treehouse (21318) even comes with two sets of leaves in […]
