RC Helicopters Lift A Woman
RC helicopters continue to improve with better motors, brains (DJI), blades, and servos. These high-tech combinations make for some seriously capable remote control copters. This video shows two RC helicopters lifting a woman off the ground. Maybe this delivery by drone business isn’t too far off. Video after the break.
Hubsan X4 H107D FPV Quadcopter
The Hubsan X4 H107D FPV Quadcopter ($155) is not just a tiny remote control copter, it also sports a 640 x 480 resolution camera with a live stream back to the controller. Yep, you can watch the video from the perspective of the quadcopter on the 4.3-inch LCD screen built-in to the transmitter. Sounds great, […]
PD-100 Black Hornet Spy Drone
Another high-tech gadget that we, the common folk, can’t buy. The PD-100 Black Hornet looks like a toy but is marketed for military reconnaissance. The PD-100 will fly for 25 minutes on a charge and streams live video back to the user. Just like the DJI Phantom 2 Vision… but much smaller. The PD-100 Black […]
Skyrunner By Parajet
The folks at Parajet have just completed their second prototype flying buggy named the Skyrunner. It isn’t cheap at $120,000, but how many options does one have for a flying car? The Skyrunner is a high powered all-terrain car that doubles as a fan powered paraglider. The 125 horsepower four-cylinder engine can achieve land speeds […]
3D Robotics Announces GPS Quadcopter For Beginners… Sorta
You may have noticed that we are fans of the autonomous GPS guided quadcopters. I personally own a heavily modified DJI S800 and DJI Phantom. What could be better than programming your quadcopter to head over to a specific location (your bosses house) drop a water balloon then head back home? One of the problems […]
DJI Phantom Quadcopter Gives You A Rare Look At Niagara Falls
First of all, if you haven’t read our review of the DJI Phantom Quadcopter… you should. Secondly, you have to watch this video of the DJI Phantom Quacopter ($679) with a Go Pro Hero3 shooting some very cool footage of Niagara Falls. Simply amazing and impressive site to see at these angles. No I am […]
Sikorsky Prize Claimed With Human Powered Helicopter
If you aren’t familiar with the Sikorsky Prize, it was a challenge for human powered flight set 33 years ago. When the prize was originally announced it was just $10,000 and was raised to $250,000 in 2009. To win the prize, a human-powered helicopter has to fly for over 60 seconds at an altitude of […]
Mind Controlled RC Quadcopter
The video (after the break) shows a mind-controlled quadcopter being flown through an obstacle course of balloon rings. This impressive feet was created at the University of Minnesota by engineering professor Bin He. The intent isn’t to launch a mind-controlled drone attack… but instead to help disabled people to control things like wheelchairs and/or mechanical […]
Domino’s Helicopter Pizza Delivery
At first glance this Octocopter remote controlled pizza delivery in London seems like a clever gimmick to generate some viral advertising for Domino’s. And guess what, here I am writing about it… so it worked. With that said, the Octocopters (like the Turbo Ace X88-J2) are getting better and better. They can now carry decent […]
DJI Phantom RC Quadcopter Review
DJI Innovations is no stranger to high end remote controlled helicopters and drones. Their S800 (Spreading Wings) Hexacopter has been a favorite choice among serious hobbyists. I happen to own the S800 with the Wookong-M autopilot system and while I love it… it is incredibly difficult for a new user to setup. You practically need […]
