First Fully Artificial Heart On The Way

Wow… medical technology does not sleep…. check out this medical gadget.  The first fully artificial heart, will be ready for human use in about 2 1/2 years.  The heart is hopefully going to help those who are dying while waiting for a heart transplants.  The heart is made of chemically treated animal tissues… this is done so that the body does not immediately reject the heart as the foreign object that it is.

I wonder if someone on this gadget will live longer than someone with a regular heart…. I mean as long as this thing gets fresh batteries it should run forever, right?
