XRoad’s Google Maps, Downloaded To Your iPhone

xroad-g_map_app-2

The folks at XROAD have launched a new iPhone application that seems to offer navigation (sorta).  The important part of the application to mention is that it essentially downloads the Google map data (a 932MB package) to the iPhone.  Why is this important?  Because, now your iPhone can be used for directions and such without having to access wifi or internet… and in theory should be much faster.

It provides most of the same amenities you’re used to seeing on real-deal GPS units, including POI editing, memo capabilities, location searching, etc.
