Philips LED Lightbulb

Eventually most lightbulbs will be LED based.  There are some issues that need to be worked out, like the cold blue light spectrum and the brightness, but someday soon most bulbs will be LED based.

The latest contender into the LED lightbulb space is Philips with their Master LED bulb ($ unknown).  The bulbs will come in warm and cool white and will last 45 times longer than you normal incandescent lightbulb.  Imagine if everyone in the world switched over to these bulbs, which are 80% more efficient, we could turn off a bunch of power plants.
