ECOS Harbinger Electric Supercar For Less Than $90,000

ECOS Harbinger

ECOS Motors in Springfield Missouri are taking pre-orders (available February 2010) for their electric "supercar" the ECOS Harbinger.  Read on for details, video, and more.

The folks at ECOS Motors got their start converting old Volkswagens to full electric commuter cars fro around $12,500.  I guess they got bored tinkering with old VW's and are now starting to build their own car.

The ECOS Harbinger starts with an aluminum chassis, a carbon/kevlar composite one-piece body, Lamborghini style scissor doors, and a 30Kwh LiFePO4 battery.  The car is expected to have a electronically limited top speed of 117mph and a 0-60 time under 6 seconds.  If you are light-footed you can expect to get around 150 miles per charge.  I like.
