Sony has kept the rumor mongers busy with the PSP2, but clearly they had something bigger up their sleeves. The Sony Xperia is an Android based smartphone that looks more like a video game system,which I guess it technically is.
The Sony Xperia sports a 854×480 pixel capacitive multi-touch TFT LCD display, a 5.1MP digital camera with flash, 5 1/2 hours of gaming time on a single charge, and a 1 GHz Scorpion ARMv7 CPU. The Xperia doesn't include a physical keyboard, but does have a slide out "˜PlayStation Certified' controller.
Expect to see the Sony Xperia on Verizon in the early spring. Sony claims 50 titles will be available by that time.
