This cool piece of gym equipment obviously is good for your health, but that isn't why I think it is amazing. Much of the current gym equipment requires electricity to operate which seems stupid. Why can't elliptical trainers, stair climbers, stationary bikes, rowing machines, etc, create power? The Toyota Prius does it.
Enter the SportsArt S770 Pinnacle Trainer ($8,499) which has a built in inverter and generates electricity from your workouts. Considering the S770 can create about 2,000 watts during a rigorous workout, think what a gym, or better yet a prison, could create with a fleet of these machines.
