SpnKix Battery Powered Skates

Late for your next meeting, feet hurt, tired of walking?  Strap some SpnKix on to your existing

shoes and let the lithium batteries power you down the sidewalk.  The SpnKix have a maximum speed of 10mph, take 2 hours to charge, and will give you a range of about 2-3 miles.  All of the electronics

are molded in to the fiber-reinforced frame.

AS cool as the SpnKix are, they aren't a reality yet.  Peter Treadway of JP Works is currently trying to raise $25,000 on Kickstarter by the end of January 2012.  Backers of the project will get a pair of the SpnKix skates for $375, if all goes well they should start shipping by March 2012.  Video after the break.
