Amazon Launches A Drone Store

Amazon Drone Store

First of all, I dislike the use of the term “drone” for simple remote control quadcopters and the like. The word has been turned into something very negative because of our governments use of actual drones. Using the word “drone” to describe a remote controlled toy with a camera on it seems a bit ridiculous. It also gives the government a new target to regulate and choke. In my opinion the larger manufacturers like DJI, Parrot, and 3D Robotics need to work on re-branding their products.  Enough said about that.

Now on to Amazon’s new Drone Store. Sigh… Newbies to the world of remote control helicopters and planes often have a tough time deciding where to start. There are a plethora of options out there from the $40 flying toys to the $3,000 and up flying gadgets. Amazon is doing a pretty good job at educating potential customers with buyers’ guides, flying tips, new product information, and the ability to buy most everything direct as well.
