Hobie Mirage Eclipse Stand-Up Pedal Board

If you prefer to cruise across the water in the stand-up position but don’t have a strong back or good core strength check this Hobie board out. The Hobie Mirage Eclipse Stand Up Pedal Board has a bicycle style handlebar system with rudder based steering. It also has pedal power. You simply pump your legs like you are riding a bike and the MirageDrive propulsion system does the rest. The MirageDrive system uses a pair of flippers beneath the board to propel the watercraft forward.

“We adapted our time tested MirageDrive to work with our industry leading stand up paddleboards,” explains Hobie’s Director of Engineering, Jim Czarnowski. “We designed the Eclipse so anyone from a beginner to a more athletic expert user can all have a great experience.”

Expect to see the Hobie Mirage Eclipse later this spring for $2,500 for the 10.5-ft version or $2,600 for the 12-ft version. Video after the break.
