It seems that most gadgets, apparel, and anything plastic is being made in developing nations. No surprise, right? Companies are always trying to save money and will go where labor is cheaper. This isn’t always a good thing. It looks like the next wave of manufacturing is going to be done by robots. This means that these low paying jobs may be going away.
The Financial Times reported that Adidas is returning their manufacturing to Germany for the first time in 30 years. They have been testing the robots out for the last six months and apparently things went well. Adidas plans to open a facility near Ansbach and have shoes, made by robots, for sale by next year.
