Ever wanted to be alerted when motion is detected in your home, office, or garage without having a traditional alarm system? I have, and surprisingly there aren’t many options without subscription based services. I don’t want to add another camera or a costly alarm system. I just want to know when someone is in my garage for example.

The only decent option that tends to come up is the D-Link DCH-S150 Wi-Fi Motion Sensor ($29). The DCH-S150 plugs into a standard wall outlet and detects motion up to 26-feet (100-degree horizontal and 80-degree vertical). Personally, I only want it to send me a push notification via my iPhone, but you can also pair it with other smart devices (lighting, sirens, etc…).
