Volkswagen Twin Drive Hybrid

Looks like Volkswagen is jumping into the hybrid arena with their “twin drive” car slated to show up around 2010.  The car will us an 85 horsepower electric motor as the primary power and supplement that with a 122 horsepower diesel (yuck) engine.  VW plans to spend $769 million on the project which will feature regenerative braking power like the Toyota Prius.
