Angry Robot Sex – Spykee vs Rovio

image

OK, apologies to all the cyber tech pervs, this is just an article about two Wi-Fi “surveillance” bots – Spykee and Rovio. Spykee is made by Erector (giggidy) and Rovio by WowWee (wtf?). Both of these massively overpriced toys arrived just in time for our economic boom to fill the vacuous niche for overpriced cheesy robotic toys. The Big Selling Point is that both of these robots come with Wi-Fi controls and Robotic Wi-Fi WebCams. For the uninitiated – Robotic WebCam is a cheap WebCam installed on an overpriced robot toy. In case of Spykee we are talking 320×240 pixel camera pumping crappy video at throbbing 15fps – hey the nineties called they want their technology back… Both robots only support WEP encryption, and according to the numerous rants on Google – not very well. That means to experience these gadgets in all of their wireless “awesomeness” you would have to compromise your network and switch from WPA to WEP. I just about fell asleep researching these bots, until I came across a Youtube video of a cage-match of Spykee vs Rovio. Being heavier by about a pound and possessing beefier mobility Spykee makes Rovio its biatch. That is all.  Watch the video after the break.

  1. I got five bucks that says my kids Robosapien can beat the crap out of both of these!

  2. Did you know that these crapbots can only be controlled via wifi?! Spykee requires some serious assembly so at least it can be modded, but it still sucks. I agree with StreetCred, these are coming to a discount bin near you for under a hundred bux!
