Nissan Eporo BR23C

Nissan’s updated BR23C robot car, also known as Eporo, will now come with a couple of laser range finders that were specially positioned so that one is able to obtain a field of view that is 288 degrees wide. The reason behind this would be to merge information concerning the environment alongside its sensory perception of other robots within the vicinity to make changes in directions as and when necessary. According to Nissan, this technology which it has dubbed “Safety Shield” might even see action in automobiles to prevent accidents. Those who will be attending CEATEC later next week (we’ll be there!) can have a closer look, and perhaps, a demonstration.
