This magic cloth, developed by Assistant Professor Di Gao from the University of Pittsburgh (Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering) might be a solution for the massive BP oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico. This magic cloth is basically a cotton cloth impregnated with a chemical polymer that is both hydrophilic and oleophobic. Long story short, it filters oil out of water and can be used again and again.
