No More Warrantless Homeland Security Laptop Searches

Homeland Security Laptop Search

Wow, does this mean we get back one tiny shred of our privacy and rights?  Since 2008 the joke of a department Homeland Security has had the illegal authority to take your laptop and hold it indefinitely, and search it without warrant or probable cause.  So North Korean of us, shame on you USA.

"The case in question the computer of an American citizen who was returning from a trip to South Korea. DHS confiscated his laptop and searched it six months later, all without a warrant. Judge Jeffrey White’s ruling states that while customs officials certainly have the right to search a laptop as part of a border search, there should be limits to the amount of time they can hold such a device and search it without going through appropriate legal channels."

  1. Don’t get me started. Our government is broken. Our politicians corrupt. We need change. Not the bogus change pitched by the last puppet either.
