Haier Human Powered Washing Machine – About Time

At a recent electronics show Haier, a giant Chinese manufacturer, was showing off a human powered washing machine.  The exercise bike has a lithium-ion battery that collects energy from pedal power and uses that energy to power the washing machine.  Twenty minutes of good pedaling should give you one cold cycle wash without needing any juice from the grid. 

I can't wait till this type of thing hits the mainstream.  I would finally be interested in helping with the laundry!
