Phonophone II Passive iPod Speaker

In my opinion, you should look at the Phonophone II speaker from an artistic perspective, or at a minimum a conversation piece. If you look at it from price ($500) perspective, or even on a performance perspective… it isn’t going to add up. The speaker system simply amplifies your earbuds… and produces up to 55 decibels of sound… without power.

The product is beautiful, and is an obvious throwback to the old record players that made RCA famous. The Phonophone II will inevitably end up on my desk. More photos after the break.
