IKEA Solvinden Solar/Wind Powered LED Lamps

IKEA's Solvinden (sol=sun & vinden=wind) line has added a few lamps that I want to buy.  I didn't even know I was in the market for lamps.

IKEA's new new Solvinden lamps (202.248.10 and 202.250.32) run off of batteries that are charged from the sun or wind.  The lamp shades are mini wind turbines that, when spinning, power a mini-generator for battery charging.  The tops of the lamps have tiny solar panels that also offer green charging goodness.  Unfortunately they are so new that they haven't shown up as "in-stock" just yet.

– No cost for electricity. The solar panel and the wind power generator convert sunlight and wind to energy.

– Easy to use. No cables or plugs are needed.

– Creates interesting light effects when it rotates in the wind.

  1. Only problem is that Ikea no longer has this product. I emailed customer service and they said the manufacturer no loger made the items.
